Dear Maintainer,
I've been using xscreensaver for many years, and a couple months ago,
it started to misbehave: it does not accept my password any more. More
specifically, when the screen is locked and I type my password is tells
me "authentication failed" and goes back to waiting for my password.
When used with other accounts on my machine, it seems to work fine,
but with my account, no matter how carefully I type my password, it
gives me a failed authentication, so I have to switch to another virtual
console to kill it in order to get back to my session.
I did not change anything to xscreensaver's configuration in years,
and FWIW I'm using an XFCE environment with a gdm3 login.
