Does it still happen with the latest versions of libgnome2-perl, debconf and gtk2-engines-highcontrast? I cannot reproduce that anymore.
Another thing is that the links should have another color, the dark blue is almost unvisible, and, in evolution even when the message is plain text it's shown white, while every other thing is black.
I'm afraid the blue color for the links is hardcoded somewhere. I'll have to check that.
