My setup is a laptop with 2 external monitors. I configured one of the external monitors as primary, and both the laptop screen and the other monitor as secondary. When closing the lid, however, making the setup become dual-monitor only, I was presented with the "Something has gone wrong" screen with the sad face, and had to logout. (as I think this screen is a gnome-shell thing, maybe that's a gnome-shell bug?)
