The package has the following Depends header:
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.5-1), libkpathsea3 (>= 2.0.2-1),
tex-common (>= 0.13) | tetex-bin (< 3.0)
The last item declares a dependency using a syntax that is deprecated by
the policy (7.1 Syntax of relationship fields): "The deprecated forms <
and > were used to mean earlier/later or equal, rather than strictly
earlier/later, so they should not appear in new packages (though dpkg
still supports them)."
When the package gets updated, this should be fixed. Thanks.
