Package: fvwm Followup-For: Bug #726530 For those whose crashes are only triggered by Firefox, there is another (admittedly down-to-earth) workaround. Although it's application-specific, it has the advantage that fvwm doesn't crash, and thus there are no window placement errors after restarting fvwm using the "while true; do fvwm; done" method:
