Since there is always a risk of bricking the board when flashing the
BIOS chip, I don't want to add a hook add flash it whenever I upgrade
the kernel.  And in case you meant I could make GRUB reads its config
file on disk, this unfortunately doesn't apply here since it's fully
encrypted (including /boot; decryption takes place in GRUB).
