Package: xdg-utils Version: 1.1.0~rc1+git20111210-7.4 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
as originally reported in bug #784735... * What led up to the situation? A program (in my case gpodder) uses xdg-open to open audio and video files. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? When starting a media file ... * What was the outcome of this action? .... only a "Videos" (Totem) window opens with no option to start the file. * What outcome did you expect instead? That the file is directly being played or, at least, that I have the option to play it by clicking a "play" button. There is a workaround which should be included in the package: Using the command totem --play %U works just fine. This command should be used in xdg-open, too. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) xdg-utils depends on no packages.
