Seconded; I'd be happy to help preparing a new upstream release (could go straight to unstable now it's past release time). There are several features I've wished for that it turns out are already in the latest upstream release... I'm also CCing the comaintainers explicitly in case they don't receive bug reports (apologies for any duplicate noise).
