user-mode-linux is no longer in testing and is currently in bad shape, so right now it's hard for me to test this since I don't run user-mode-linux myself. However, I've examined this patch at greater length now and I think it makes sense to me now. The idea is that, if ARCH=um is set when the module building is done, the sysname should be *_umlinux* instead of _linux* (including in configure so that OpenAFS will build with the user-mode-linux support), the packages should be named openafs-modules-uml instead of openafs-modules, and the module should be installed into /usr/lib/uml/modules where user-mode-linux will find it. Oh, and the kernel image is kernel-uml. That all seems reasonable, but I don't want to apply this patch unless someone will be in a position to test it and make sure it works. Andreas, are you in a position to do that? If I provided a revised openafs-modules-source package, could you test it on user-mode-linux? -- Russ Allbery ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) <http://www.eyrie.org/~eagle/> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
