I'm working on addressing this bug report now. In fact, I'm including debconf support to vrms so that only those with debconf set to "low priority" will see the message upon installation. As a byproduct of this, I'm going to remove the vrms call in the postinst, which should address this bug. I expect this to be incorporated soon in vrms (version 1.12).
