So if I read the source right, it does not send "X-Forwarded-For: $ip" + "Via:
1.0 HAVP" but only "Via: 1.0 PROXY". It does so since 0.89 (a few versions
after the option got in) and the reason looks to be "Always send Via: header,
fixes some IIS problems (e.g. MSNBC)".

So Harald, I guess what you want is an option to get rid of that "Via:"
header. Where is upstream standing on this? Another option or is this explicit
"Via" header no longer required these days?
