Hi, I really second this bug report. This is really impossible to have to wait for as much as five minutes (!) when booting with the Ethernet cable unplugged.
Whatever the solution is (adding a timeout to the upstream version, or a dirtier as running ntpdate in the background), this bug really needs a fix.
