I tested the binaries (gnutls-bin, libgnutls-deb0-28) and they work in all AES modes, 128 or 256 bits, CBC and GCM. I used gnutls-cli to connect both to the SMTP server on the same machine and to some SMTP server I picked out of my logs that also supported all those ciphers. Furthermore, exim4 was able to use AES-128-CBC to deliver some test mails to other SMTP servers. So it seems to work fine. Thanks for maintaining the Debian packages and a pleasant bug reporting experience! Peter. -- I use the GNU Privacy Guard (GnuPG) in combination with Enigmail.
