I browsed the latest reportbug code and found that it has two config-settings: * "config-files" (Should I ever include modified config files?) * "compress" (Should I strip down modified config files?) at: https://sources.debian.net/src/reportbug/6.6.3/conf/reportbug.conf/#L40 I realise this bugreport is from August last year, and I didn't yet spend time looking deeply to find if those settings were added to reportbug after or before the report, but either way it seems they are enough to overcome the problem described, in a scalable way, for all packages (which makes more sense than each package trying to implement their own safety-measures). I suggest this can be resolved as "fixed" (or "wontfix"? as the "fix" is actually in reportbug...), but I won't actually close the bug (yet). I will wait a few days until either: (A) someone suggests why this in fact should not be closed (B) someone else closes it If neither happens I will close it myself soon. -- Rowan Thorpe PGP fingerprint: BB0A 0787 C0EE BDD8 7F97 3D30 49F2 13A5 265D CCBD ---- "There is a great difference between worry and concern.
