tag 533916 - wontfix thanks Even while Modestas has not been around in a while we have been using this feature in our pkg-kde-tools for years without issues except having to add new archs to the rules.
And I can also say this is well-tested: we use it in the whole Qt stack (both Qt4 and the whole 24 src packages from Qt5), the whole KDE stack, and even libraries using Qt (and it wouldn't surprise me if non Qt C++ libs use it too). I took the freedom to unmark this bug as wontfix because of all this. Of course you are the maintainers, feel free to mark it back again if you still have reasons not to add this support.
