Dear David, Dominik, and all, I am also having this same issue with my Jesse owncloud-client with the error below. I've tried on two other desktops, both running owncloud-client >=1.8.1 with no issue. For what it's worth, I agree that adding a backport for Jesse sounds like a great idea!
