Package: gnome-volume-manager Version: 1.2.1-1 Severity: normal I've got a removable IDE disk in the form of a compact flash card, which can be inserted in a PCMCIA slot via an adapter. The kernel recognises this as /dev/hde automatically, but it doesn't get automounted by gnome-volume-manager.
I do see the following; 1. Kernel sees the device as /dev/hde 2. udev creates the node 3. "hal --monitor" spits out events as the device as added or removed 4. pmount will mount the device (it's marked as removable in /sys/block/hde/removable). It looks like gnome-volume-manager is the missing link.
