Package: mutt Version: 1.5.23-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
MIME-compliant messages containing images that are referenced by an HTML attachment do not render with the images because mutt does not unpack them. While it's understandable that mutt users do not generally care if html can be rendered graphically, there are those rare cases where it's useful. In particular, producing printable/distributable non-forensic copies of e-mail for legal purposes, where the stationary used by an author is important. This article gives some insight - indicating that if image files are mime-unpacked, mutt's usual choice for naming attachments won't always work: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4018709/how-to-create-an-email-with-embedded-images-that-is-compatible-with-the-most-mai the names should be formed as: cid:<Content-ID> a filename might look like this: [email protected] Note that images render correctly only if the html references an URL as opposed to a local file. -- Package-specific info: Mutt 1.5.23 (2014-03-12) Copyright (C) 1996-2009 Michael R.
