Well, RootDir is in all likelyhood the wrong choice as you found out in the bugreport yourself, so the answer is probably (but I have never done this myself) setting "Dir" and "DPkg:Run-Directory" to the same directory aka your chroot. Good luck & best regards David Kalnischkies
