They won't be able to fix this.

What you probably refer to are GTK+ Client Side Decorations, i.e. the
"new" way of GNOME being different, "better" and incompatible with
everything else.

So when you use GNOME applications with CSDs, you're basically screwed.

There's https://github.com/PCMan/gtk3-nocsd but this is AFAIR no full
solution to the problems imposed by CSDs. :-(
And it's not yet packaged for Debian, see

If you don't like CSDs, you're probably better of with using non-GNOME
alternative applications, like the forks made by MATE :-)
