Package: daapd
Version: 0.2.3d-4
Severity: minor
All music files are not necessarily mp3, so a better default name for
directory settings in /etc/daapd.conf would be
audio (or "music" etc.)
Furthermore, the data is independent on the host[1] and FHS does not
know "mp3" hirarchy. A more general location according to FHS 2.2 would be
/usr/share [2]:
Root /usr/share/audio
According to FHS 2.3[3] (which Debian does nto yet use) that would be:
Root /srv/audio

/usr/local is defined as "... It may be used for programs and
data that are shareable amongst a group of hosts, but not found in
/usr (...) No other directories, except those listed below, may be in
/usr/local after first installing a FHS-compliant system."

/usr/share is defined as "... for all read-only architecture
independent data files (...) shareable among all architecture
platforms (...) directory that is centrally-mounted"

"... data files for particular service, and so that services which
require a single tree for readonly data ..."
