Package: udev Version: 0.079-1 Severity: wishlist I would like to set up my machine to dual-boot between a 2.4 kernel and a 2.6 kernel. When I installed a recent debian 2.6 kernel package, the udev package was installed and the hotplug package was uninstalled. With udev not supporting 2.4 kernels, and hotplug and its 2.4 support uninstalled, I'm not sure what to expect when I boot into the 2.4 kernel. I'm a relatively advanced user and I'm pretty confident that I can muddle through it, but it'd be nice if the udev docs contained some explanation of what to expect, and what is supported and what my options are in regards to such a dual-boot situation.
