Manoj, as discussed on irc, here is a new version of powerpc.mk, which does
not assume ARCH=powerpc on 2.6.15 by default, but ARCH=ppc instead.
This doesn't solve the defconfig undeterministic behavior between building on
ppc and ppc64 hardware, but i guess we can live with that.
