Ok, it looks like there is a bug filed against wicd that describes a
similar problem. I'm therefore merging this bugreport.

Hm, do you want wicd on any interface at all? If you want wicd to manage
only the wireless, then you shouldn't have the wlan0 stanza in
/etc/network/interfaces.

In general, you can use both simultaneously, but not on the same
interface. But until this bug is fixed, I think you should try using
either wicd alone or ifupdown alone. If you want to use wicd, then you
don't have to remove the ifupdown package, but just remove the eth0 and
wlan0 stanzas.
