Hi all,
I talked to Marco via IRC to get #779745 fixed and was offering to NMU.
Marco's response was, that the package is broken (see the open RC bug)
and should rather be removed:
That's a quite courageous move when we know how long Marco managed to
keep INN 1.7.2 running! Thanks again for your work on that version of
INN, Marco.
<Md> mbiebl_: please do not bother with inn, it is broken in other ways.
just remove the package
Is there a way to warn the current users of the inn package of that
change and help them to migrate to the inn2 package if they wish?
According to the INSTALL file of INN 2.x:
"You'll find it much easier to start with a fresh install than to try to
update your old installation. This is particularly true if you're
upgrading from a version of INN prior to 2.0."
"tradspool is the storage method used by all versions of INN previous to
2.0."
So maybe a pointer to makehistory so as to explain how to rebuild the
history and overview from tradspool would be useful?
