Most likely a systemd-shim related problem then. What does $ loginctl show-session $XDG_SESSION_ID Unless you have a good reason to stick with sysvinit, upgrade to systemd. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
