O.k. I see you running unstable. Can you please provide some more
information about your setup as mentioned in the wiki [1].

You have ensured there is not installation of Lightning left? If there
is a Lightning plugin installed it will be used instead of
iceowl-extension. A mad running Icedove is likely almost because of
incompatible versions.
What is happens if starting in safe-mode? What's happen if you build a
new profile. You have started a log [2] to see what's Icedove is trying
to do? What about previous versions?

I'm running various versions of Icedove from Wheezy to 41.0~b2 and there
are no such issues.
