right, but I was actually really happy when I discovered that it was possible
to do an upload without ever trying to find and tab-complete any .changes
filenames so that I can run debsign and dput on them.

So while it is already possible to manually specify a .changes file, I'd rather
like if dgit would do the right thing or bail out if in doubt, or give the user
some quick to select interactive option when pushing.
