this is a feature. The assumption is, that you want to abort the build if dpkg fails to parse the dependency line. I think it's not debatable that this is the right thing to do. As for the :native problem: Which version of libdpkg-perl are you using on the system running sbuild? Is it at least version 1.16.5? cheers, josch
