Package: nautilus Version: 3.18.0-2+b1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
This is quite difficult to explain clearly, hence the naff subject line, but here goes: When I navigate to a subdirectory of an NFS share, after a few seconds, Nautilus climbs back up the directory tree. For example, I point Nautilus to /mnt/fileserver/1/2/3/4/ and leave the window open for a minute or so. When I come back to that window it will be showing /mnt/fileserver/1/2 or maybe even /mnt/fileserver. The only way I can seem to get Nautilus to stay at a directory level I want it to, is to use "open in terminal" and open a shell at that level. For some reason that helps Nautilus "remember" its current directory. I've seen this behaviour for quite some time - probably since Wheezy. It happens with NFSv3 and v4, v4.1 and I believe autofs and fstab mounting procedures. Both client and server are running Debian. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.2.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages nautilus depends on: ii desktop-file-utils 0.22-1 ii gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.18.0-1 ii gvfs 1.26.1.1-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.18.0-1 ii libc6 2.19-22 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.14.2-2 ii libcairo2 1.14.2-2 ii libexempi3 2.2.2-2+b1 ii libexif12 0.6.21-2 ii libgail-3-0 3.18.2-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.32.1-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.46.1-1 ii libglib2.0-data 2.46.1-1 ii libgnome-desktop-3-12 3.18.1-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.18.2-1 ii libnautilus-extension1a 3.18.0-2+b1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.38.0-3 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.38.0-3 ii libselinux1 2.3-2+b1 ii libtracker-sparql-1.0-0 1.6.0-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 ii libxml2 2.9.2+zdfsg1-4 ii nautilus-data 3.18.0-2 ii shared-mime-info 1.5-2 Versions of packages nautilus recommends: ii gnome-icon-theme-symbolic 3.12.0-1 ii gnome-sushi 3.18.0-1 ii gvfs-backends 1.26.1.1-1 ii librsvg2-common 2.40.11-1 Versions of packages nautilus suggests: ii brasero 3.12.1-1 ii eog 3.18.0-1+b1 ii evince [pdf-viewer] 3.18.0-1 ii totem 3.18.1-1+b1 ii tracker 1.6.0-1 ii vlc [mp3-decoder] 1:2.2.1-dmo11 ii vlc-nox [mp3-decoder] 1:2.2.1-dmo11 ii xdg-user-dirs 0.15-2 -- no debconf information
