(I think you meant "FTBFS without sphinxcontrib-rubydomain", right?)

Well, the package seems to build fine in unstable *without*
sphinxcontrib-rubydomain. However, I do confirm that it does not
compile in jessie and sphinxcontrib-rubydomain is probably needed.

Does it mean I can close it?

Yeah, I've already checked mia-query and tried to contact him
personally. But debian-private is indeed another viable approach.
