If you launch it from a console, do you get any interesting output in regards to errors or warnings while you're waiting? I'm not able to reproduce this, can you try moving your .liferea folder out of the way (mv ./.liferea ./.liferea_old ) and starting liferea up again to see if it is something related to the feeds/user configuration/content? To return back to normal, you would: mv ./.liferea ./.liferea.clean mv ./.liferea_old ./.liferea -David
