Package: gemrb
Version: 0.8.2-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

the latest development version of game-data-packager supports all
English versions of Baldur's Gate 1+2, Icewind Dale 1+2 and Planescape
Torment from gog.com.

It would be nice if gemrb recommended game-data-packager and
highlighted the fact that users can easily install game data for gemrb
if they own a copy of the game from gog.com. I think a notice in
README.Debian will do and perhaps a few words in the package
description.

It could also make sense to change the default GamePath in
/etc/gemrb/*.conf to the following paths which are used by those g-d-p
games or to mention them at least.

/usr/share/gemrb/baldurs-gate-1-en-data
/usr/share/gemrb/baldurs-gate-2-en-data
/usr/share/gemrb/icewind-dale-1-en-data
/usr/share/gemrb/icewind-dale-2-en-data
/usr/share/gemrb/planescape-torment-en-data

In https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=800715#99 Simon
McVittie suggested to add language environment support to gemrb. That
would allow g-d-p to install all different language versions of a game
into the same game directory like

/usr/share/gemrb/baldurs-gate-1/{en,fr,de,ru}

etc.

Then it would suffice to change the GamePath to
/usr/share/gemrb/baldurs-gate-1 for example.

But this is probably another bug. I'm just mentioning it for
the sake of completeness.

Regards,

Markus
