Hi Matt,

the write access to that file is needed for the user management that
is integrated in WATO. You can create users there. And the passwords
are stored in exactly that htpasswd file.

To be honest: the setup.sh is not really maintained by us anymore.
We now have OMD based packages that are multi-version and multi-instance
capable and solve all our problems when it comes to installation,
integration, update and so on.

Have you every thought of creating Debian packages of the Raw-Edition?
