Sorry, this bug was not the one about disk-full issues but about endian-ness assumptions, also fixed but not released in the attic tree (as linked in original message). I think this small fix should be patched into the Debian version as it does not run on armel otherwise. Note that this requires changes in the cython code so has to be compiled from git.
