I have the same bug here
No boot on second boot stage. Missing system icon on the center on the
screen, screen flash after a while and reboot, etc...
After comparing yaboot.conf between Wheezy and Jessie, i've found
Jessie :

Wheezy

Using Wheezy CD and replacing these values in rescue mode and applying
"new bootstrap" (rescue mode) solve the problem.
This does not work with Jessie CD
In case, I must reinstall Jessie, how can I use (apply) the patch ?
Machine : Macintosh G5 Dual
used image : debian-8.2.0-powerpc-netinst.iso
