Please change that dependency to the package opensp, which is almost a drop in replacement. The only change that should be necessary is to change all commands from the sp package (e.g., nsgmls) to the equivalent ones prefixed with the letter 'o' in opensp (e.g., nsgmls -> onsgmls).
