Sure, I sometimes hold certain packages as well, I can understand that.

As I've already said, please try "aptitude install scim
scim-gtk2-immodule scim-tables-additional scim-uim scim-m17n".  Note
that you need to add scim-uim and scim-m17n there as well, as the SCIM
modules need to be upgrade with scim together.
