Hello,

please see #724569.

No packages in jessie+ Provide: linux-image now, however, an old custom
kernel built with this will have the Provide:
https://debian-handbook.info/browse/stable/sect.kernel-compilation.html

We have a custom kernel in a custom repository, but the custom kernel
should not be installed in all the distros we pick from that repository.

However, as soon as we install dkms in one distro, the custom kernel is
pulled in by dkms's Recommends, and bites us in the shins.

We worked around it by creating an equivs package that depends on the
kernel we wants and provides linux-image. As we cannot depend on older
linux kernels to update their .deb generation scrips, I wish dkms would
remove this Recommends so that there is one less package triggering
this.
