Sorry, appears I misunderstood the upstream bug reports.

The last comment in 25761 is "There is also some documentation to be
updated. See the patch from #17601." however that apparently just
confused me.

I think we need to downgrade this bug or apply the fix. Right now this
bug - I believe - is preventing Django 1.8 from migrating into testing.

Will have a look at applying the patch.
