Ok, I attached the file. Actually, I did the upgrade this morning so the problem has disappeared. But I managed to reproduce the situation by downgrading grub to testing and holding the package again. Here is the aptitude screen which shows the problem: --\ Packages being removed because they are no longer used (1) idA os-prober -184kB 1.35 1.35 --\ Packages being automatically held in their current state (1) i A grub-common 1.98~20100 1.98~20100 --\ Packages being held back (1) ih grub-pc 1.98~20100 1.98~20100 Let me know if you need more info.
Have you seen this in recent times? I cannot reproduce it with your bundle or with the current versions in unstable, and in general I haven't observed this behaviour about wanting to remove recommended packages of packages on hold in the last few years.
