Package: python-imaging
Version: 3.0.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

the lastest version of the package 'removed' the methods tostring() and
fromstring() from the Image class. Actually, they're still there but
they now raise an exception telling the user to use tobytes() and
frombytes() instead.

This breaks rapid-photo-downloader as it still uses those methods. It
doesn't display photo thumbnails anymore and prints the exception to the
console.

The package should probably declare a Breaks dependency or something
(I'm not a Debian packaging-knowledgable person) to unpatched versions of rpd.

Kind regards,
  Chris
