Package: sane-utils Version: 1.0.24-8 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, saned fails to provide network access to hplip MFDs. I've set up a fresh Debian Jessie server, there are two HP MFDs connected over network. Scaning with scanimage locally on server works. But when trying to run scanimage on client host, it can not obtain devices from the server (LAN is specified in saned.conf on server, server is included in net.conf on client).
When running scanimage on client, these lines appear in saned log on server: saned[22875]: check_host: access by remote host: ::ffff:[client_ip] saned[22875]: init: access granted to user@::ffff:[client_ip] saned[22875]: io/hpmud/pp.c 627: unable to read device-id ret=-1 -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (900, 'stable-updates'), (900, 'stable'), (400, 'testing'), (300, 'unstable'), (200, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_DK.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_DK.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages sane-utils depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.56 ii init-system-helpers 1.22 ii libavahi-client3 0.6.31-5 ii libavahi-common3 0.6.31-5 ii libc6 2.19-18+deb8u1 ii libieee1284-3 0.2.11-12 ii libsane 1.0.24-8 ii libsystemd0 215-17+deb8u2 ii libusb-1.0-0 2:1.0.19-1 ii update-inetd 4.43 sane-utils recommends no packages.
