Dear Maintainer,
This bug has resurfaced. I have to restart saslauthd every week or so because 
authentication fails. extract from /var/log/auth.log

pam_mysql - pam_mysql_check_passwd() returning 6.
saslauthd[21211]: pam_mysql - pam_mysql_sql_log() called.
saslauthd[21211]: pam_mysql - pam_mysql_sql_log() returning 0.
saslauthd[21211]: pam_mysql - pam_sm_authenticate() returning 7.
legolas saslauthd[21211]: DEBUG: auth_pam: pam_authenticate failed: 
Authentication failure
saslauthd[21211]: pam_mysql - pam_mysql_release_ctx() called.
saslauthd[21211]: pam_mysql - pam_mysql_destroy_ctx() called.
legolas saslauthd[21211]: pam_mysql - pam_mysql_close_db() called.
saslauthd[21211]: do_auth         : auth failure: [user=xxx] [service=imap] 
[realm=] [mech=pam] [reason=PAM auth error]


Tested with tessaslauthd:

testsaslauthd -s imap -u -p 

gives:

0: NO "authentication failed"
