I don't intend for that file to be patched at all, and I forget why it
was.  Actually, I think the most recent Debian patch already includes
it, but as a different name, because I've changed the package name and
thus directory.  Does this make sense?

Yes, modulo the fact that nobody has confirmed that the patch does the
right things..  I had hoped someone more experienced with library
packages would do so.

I don't expect I've progressed far in the queue, and I have doubts
that my contributions are sufficiently significant to be at all
prioritized in that respect.  *sigh*
