Package: gnome-shell-extension-redshift Version: 3.18.1-1 Severity: important
I was just looking at the process listings and noticed that there are 4 redshift processes. For all of them, the parent is the gnome-shell, which is understandable because I'm using the Redshift Shell Extension. Thus this bug report. What I don't understand is why there are 4 unique processes. This to me looks like the shell extension has crashed in the past, restarted itself, but never did a proper cleanup. Yes. I think that must be the problem. Perhaps you should be able to reproduce this bug by restarting the gnome shell. Just keep an eye on the number of processes. rrs@learner:~$ ps -eo "%p %P %y %x %c" | grep redshift 2351 10263 tty2 00:00:02 redshift 5621 10263 tty2 00:00:02 redshift 6143 10263 tty2 00:00:02 redshift 28621 10263 tty2 00:00:00 redshift 2015-12-24 / 23:00:46 ♒♒♒ ☺ rrs@learner:~$ ps ax | grep 10263 9882 pts/2 S+ 0:00 grep --color=auto 10263 10263 tty2 Sl+ 21:16 /usr/bin/gnome-shell 2015-12-24 / 23:01:03 ♒♒♒ ☺ -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.3.3+ (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_IN.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_IN.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages gnome-shell-extension-redshift depends on: ii gnome-shell 3.18.3-2 ii redshift 1.10-5 Versions of packages gnome-shell-extension-redshift recommends: ii geoclue-2.0 2.4.0-2 ii gnome-tweak-tool 3.18.1-1 gnome-shell-extension-redshift suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
