Package: isc-dhcp-client
Version: 4.3.1-6+deb8u2
Severity: important

Hello,

I'm using this (the jessie default) DHCP client on a fresh
install. This machine spends most of its time in suspend (S3) and is
only woken up when needed. The DHCP server gives out 24 h leases.

Last regular boot (i.e. not just resume from S3) was on the evening of
the 19th -- and that's the last the journal has heard from dhclient:

Jän 19 20:27:20 mrmackey dhclient[503]: bound to 192.168.0.25 -- renewal in
40765 seconds.
Jän 19 20:27:20 mrmackey ifup[478]: bound to 192.168.0.25 -- renewal in 40765
seconds.

Since then, there've been a few suspend/resume cycles but no
reboots. Obviously, the lease has long since lapsed, without any
discernable attempt to renew it. (Yes, dhclient is still running.)

This is the first time this install has gone this long without a
reboot, so I'm afraid it might not be a one-time glitch. Is it
possible that it doesn't like the way systemd handles suspend/resume?

Regards,
Christian Pernegger

P.S.: The leases file shows two leases for some reason.
