Package: libasio-dev Version: 1:1.10.6-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
libasio-dev depends on libboost-date-time-dev and libboost-dev, but according to asio's website: http://think- async.com/Asio/AsioAndBoostAsio?skin=clean.nat%2casio%2cpattern#What_are_the_differences_in_the "Asio can be used independently of Boost by defining ASIO_STANDALONE when you compile." I use asio-devel with the ASIO_STANDALONE configuration, and it works quite well. Would you consider changing the dependencies to recommendations? -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.3.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages libasio-dev depends on: ii libboost-date-time-dev 1.58.0.1 ii libboost-dev 1.58.0.1 Versions of packages libasio-dev recommends: ii libboost-regex-dev 1.58.0.1 ii libssl-dev 1.0.2e-1 libasio-dev suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
