(Please forward to upstream package maintainers) For optimum user comfort, od should have a simple one-letter commandline switch to create a tcpdump -X like output, i.e. 0000440 74 68 20 41 42 53 4f 4c 55 54 45 4c 59 20 4e 4f abc.def.ghi..... that is od -t x1 combined with a display of the printable ANSII characters on the right hand side. Such an output would be very welcome in a lot of settings.
