Tried several versions of qemu (including the one mentioned in this bugreport), tried different windows installations (some old and heavily fragmented, some new not fragmented significantly), different drive options, -- to no avail. I'm not saying the bug does not exist. Maybe it is just not easy to hit due to some timing requiriments/differences.
